It’s 3 am, can’t sleep again
So I scribble away through the dark with my pen.
Let The Rain Kiss You
Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby. ~ Langston Hughes
Poetry Is A Deal Of Joy
Poetry is a deal of joy and pain and wonder, with a dash of the dictionary. ~ Khalil Gibran
As Much Power As A Word
I know nothing in the world that has as much power as a word. Sometimes I write one, and I look at it, until it begins to shine. ~ Emily Dickinson
As Necessary As Bread
Poetry is a life-cherishing force. For poems are not words, after all, but fires for the cold, ropes let down to the lost, something as necessary as bread in the pockets of the hungry. ~ Mary Oliver
A Time To Dream
I love the rich earthy smell
right after a storm,
The flavor of heartaches
washed away with
the rain,
The feel of the wind
dancing around me
as I walk barefoot
in tall damp grass.
This is the time to dream,
with misty rainbows and
a pale sun in the distant sky,
And an orange glow to
light my way back home.
Everyone Has Demons
Everyone has demons.
I’ve tried to make friends with mine.
Not because I’m giving up the fight
or I believe lies whispered in shadows.
A Book And A Shady Nook
Oh for a book and a shady nook, either indoors or out, with the green leaves whispering overhead, or the street cries all about, where I may read at all my ease, both of the new and old, for a jolly good book, whereon to look, is better to me than gold. ~ John Wilson
God Is The Perfect Poet
God is the perfect poet. ~ Robert Browning
